Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has rejected a petition challenging the continuance of Lalu Prasad as Union Minister on the ground that his election to the Lok Sabha is “unconstitutional”. The Lucknow Bench of Justices Pradeep Kant and Rajiv Mishra dismissed the petition due to “lack of jurisdiction”. The petitioner had contended that Mr Prasad’s election was unconstitutional as he had contested from Chapra Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar despite being a member of the same House from Madhepura.
