THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nearly 5 lakh SSLC students across the State, Lakshadweep, Mahe and the Gulf region took the Information Technology practical examination, which began on Wednesday. Free software was used for the test across 2,852 examination centres in India and abroad. The examination will conclude on March 8. The I.T. practical examination which consists of four questions carries a total of 20 marks. According to K. Anvar Sadath, executive director, IT@School, the examination is being held on over 40,000 computers. The arrangements made for the examination at the Government Model Boys High School here was reviewed by Education Minister M.A. Baby. Special arrangements have been made for candidates with hearing, visual and other disabilities. “Over 7,000 invigilators have been given training in connection with the examination,” said Mr. Sadath. “We have supplied examination related handbooks and other equipment to the centres through the district educational offices,” he said. More details regarding the examination are also available on www.education.kerala.gov.in Candidates who failed to appear for the 2007 I.T. practical examination can re-appear using the same software this year on March 7.
