Insulator unit coming up
The Chennai-based W.S Industries (India) Limited, which is setting up an insulator unit in the special economic zone at Atchyuthapuram in Visakhapatnam district, has given 22 jobs to ex-servicemen and widows of ex-servicemen in its unit.
Presenting the appointment letters to the employees in the District Sainik Welfare Office here on Wednesday, company’s Managing Director N. Sethuramon said the unit was being set up on 48 acres of land allotted by the State Government at a cost of Rs.110 crores in the first phase, with a capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes of insulators per annum. It would be an export-oriented unit, with 90 per cent of the output meant for exports and go on stream by May.
