‘TRS threatening Government only for political power’

Special Correspondent

KURNOOL: President of Rayalaseema Hakkula Ikya Vedika T.G. Venkatesh said the leaders of Telengana Rastra Samithi (TRS) were issuing the resignation threats to the government only to capture political power. The party was more interested in political power , he said.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, he said the by-election induced by resignations would entail a huge expenditure on the exchequer. The by-election to Karimnagar parliament seat cost Rs. 300 crore to parties and government. In future, the expenditure for by-election should be realized from the people of the particular region through special taxes.

He said some of the senior leaders from BJP, CPI and Congress parties were also speaking on behalf of Telengana reducing their status from being state leaders to regional leaders. He said the Vedika would fight for the development of Rayalaseema region
