An all-round performance by Prakash (55 not out and five for 58, including a hat-trick) went in vain as Pykara Cricket Club lost to Customs Cricket Club by one-wicket in the Canara Bank-Madurai District Cricket Association first division ‘A’ Zone league recently.

The scores: First div. ‘A’ Zone: Pykara CC 211 for seven in 49 overs (Dass 46, Prakash 55 n.o.) lost to Customs CC 212 for nine in 43.3 overs (Venkatesh 59 n.o., Rajkumar 69, Prakash five for 58, including a hat-trick).

‘B’ Zone: Spark Colts CC 180 in 40.2 overs (Ashok 59, Thalaimuthu four for 32) bt KKR CC 56 in 16.4 overs (T. Karthick seven for 12); Oliva CC 246 in 46 overs (Pandiarajan 59, Deivanayagam 42, Tharigaalam 58) bt Freak CC 104 in 38 overs (Rajmohan four for 23).
