Takawale to play in IPL

Mumbai: Maharashtra Ranji Trophy player Yogesh Takawale, son of an autorickshaw driver, has been drafted in to play in the Indian Premier League competition for $50,000 (about Rs. 20 lakh), giving him a major financial boost.

Takawale, a resident of Pune, has been roped in to play for Mumbai Franchise team, owned by industrialist Mukesh Ambani, alongside the likes of maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

An elated Takawale said “I never thought I would get to play in the IPL under the captaincy of Tendulkar”. — PTI
