KOTTAYAM: The minimum quantity of petroleum products that can be bought from petrol pumps in Kottayam and Idukki districts will be one litre, leaders of Kottayam and Idukki District Petroleum Dealers’ Association have said. As per the Explosives Act, fuel can be filled only in the fuel tanks of vehicles. The Police Department too has taken a serious view of this practice, they said. So from March 1, the minimum quantity of petroleum products that can be bought from a petrol pump will be one litre. The system has already been introduced in some northern districts, they said.
