MLA’s son killed in accident

KADAPA: Amjad Basha, 30, son of Congress MLA of Kadapa Mohd. Ahmedullah, was killed and 15 others sustained injuries when his car met with an accident involving a coal-laden lorry and an APSRTC bus near Kadapa Central Prison on the outskirts of Kadapa city on Thursday.

Amjad Basha, who was driving the car, was crushed to death in the driver’s seat while his manager Murali sustained injuries.

All this happened within 15 minutes of their journey from Kadapa to Railway Kodur. Basha tried to overtake an RTC bus going from Kadapa to Rapur in Nellore district, when the lorry coming from Chennai dashed against his car and then hit the RTC bus, according to the police. The lorry driver and bus driver suffered fractures of their legs. The injured persons were taken to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
