Morarji Desai remembered

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The 111th birth anniversary of the late former Prime Minister Morarji Desai was celebrated at the Janata Dal (United) office here on Friday.

Inaugurating the function, the party State unit president B. Somasekhar said the late Prime Minister did not compromise his conviction and principles during his seven decades of public life.

The former Minister said he had been following the advice of Morarji Desai and had not lost patience and creditability, which the late leader gave him when he contested as a Janata Party candidate from the Malavalli Assembly Constituency of Mandya district in 1983.

Janata Dal (United) general secretary Shambhu Srivastava, the former MLC of party Michael Fernandes, and the former Mayor of Bangalore B.M. Putte Gowda participated in the function.
