The need to organise the marketing as well as production of handicrafts goods on proper lines so that they could stand competition from the power industry was underlined by Mr. Morarji Desai, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, during the inauguration of a seminar on cooperative development and marketing of handicrafts goods in New Delhi on February 27. Organised by the All India Handicrafts Board, the seminar is being attended by about 120 delegates, representing Handicrafts Cooperative Societies and State Governments. Mrs. Kamaladevi Chattopadhyaya, Chairman of the Handicrafts Board, said the seminar was being held to examine the problems relating to marketing and production of handicrafts.
