HYDERABAD: Professionals voice their opinion on the D.B.A. Sprinters’ Cup and the D.B.A. Stayers’ Cup.

J. DHARIWAL: In the Sprinters’ Cup, I like Oasis Star over Woman On Top. My third choice is the local hope Auxiliary. In the Stayers’ Cup, Orochi and Gentlemans Deal shape as the best. My ward, Arabian Knight, is an each-way chance.

VIJAY SINGH: In the Stayers’ Cup, everyone is talking about the local horses. I hope I can do it with Azureus, who has had a long journey from Kolkata. Oasis Star looks the best in the Sprinters’ Cup, while Escravos should run a good race.

S. PADMANABHAN: I give Oasis Star the first chance in the Sprinters’ Cup, she won very impressively last time out; my fillies — Lady One and Upper Crust — will run well. In the Stayers’ Cup, I have been impressed by Orochi’s efforts and he has a top rider in R. Hughes.

C. D. KATRAK: My horse Oasis Star has travelled well and I am hoping for the best. I only hope she does not have any traffic problems.

M. V. NARAYANA RAO: My ward Onnu Onnu Onnu has the home track advantage in the Sprinters’ Cup and is peaking nicely after a small setback, although age is against him. Secret Memory has the best chance in the Stayers’ Cup, followed by Gentlemans Deal.

M. KHARADI: The Sprinters’ Cup looks a one-horse race — Oasis Star is my pick. The Stayers’ Cup looks open and Maximise may prevail. — Anil Mukhi
