Official trapped

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Thursday trapped a First Division Assistant (FDA) in the office of tahsildar in Sindagi taluk of Bijapur while allegedly accepting Rs. 2,000 as bribe for making an entry of a high court order in the Record of Tenancy and Cultivation (RTC). According to a press note, Lakshman Saibanna Bajanthri, working as an FDA in the Land Reforms and Election section, allegedly demanded Rs. 15,000 from Sharanappa Ningappa Manur.

Later, Bajanthri agreed to accept Rs. 2,000. On a complaint, the Lokayukta police trapped Bajanthri while he was allegedly receiving the money.
