Latest technologies on display NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday inaugurated a four-day mega exposition on cellular technologies at Pragati Maidan here. Described as a global platform where the business of technology comes to life, “Mobile Asia-2008” has on offer the latest digital technologies across mobile networks and applications, network infrastructure and communications. Stating that the exposition was meant to showcase products and technologies that would change life in the years to come, Indian Cellular Association president Pankaj Mohindroo said the next wave of growth in mobile subscribers would be primarily from the younger generation. “Therefore, the exposition aims to provide a platform for the industry and trade to interact and communicate with Generation X,” he said. From infrastructure to deployment, Mobile Asia-2008 is displaying the applications and solutions at different stages of the value chain for convergent technologies such as complete mobility solution and mobile entertainment, mobile governance, mobile banking, mobile education and rural mobility. Apart from newly-launched handsets and mobile services, the exposition is showcasing the latest innovations in various technologies related to the industry. Organised by ICA, an apex body of the mobile industry comprising manufacturers, brand owners, application and solution providers, the exposition is offering attractive prices and schemes at “Mobile Street” for mobile users looking to buy new phones.
