NEW DELHI: If everything goes as planned, Delhi University students will soon get to evaluate their teachers and the syllabus of post-graduate subjects they are studying. At the university’s Academic Council meeting on Thursday, the “feedback form” -- designed to improve the quality of teaching, create a learning environment and improve the standards of post-graduate education -- was approved. Assuring confidentiality of their identities, the students would be required to fill up a separate form for each teacher or course at the department level from the next academic session. The form will enquire whether topics listed in the syllabus are relevant; if classes are being held regularly; and whether all the topics have been properly taught. Apart from this, a semester system will be introduced in all courses at the post-graduate level from July this year. This was one of the main recommendations of the Reforms Committee that was constituted to review and re-organise post-graduate courses and research.
