Bidar
BIDAR: Members of the district unit of the Karnataka State Anganwadi Workers’ Union staged a protest in Bidar city on Saturday demanding regularisation of their jobs and payment of minimum wages until then. The protest was staged in front of the tahasildar’s office. Their other demands include payment of pension to anganwadi workers after retirement and extension of the Integrated Child Development Services scheme to the workers. The protest was led by the taluk unit president of the union Meena Kumari, vice-president Vidyavathi and deputy secretary Shankuntala. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the tahasildar. — Staff Correspondent
