Karunanidhi flays Jayalalithaa

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday criticised All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa for dubbing the Union Budget anti-people.

Through a poem, Mr. Karunanidhi pointed out that the Budget had earmarked Rs.300 crore as the first instalment towards the Chennai desalination plant project and announced a Rs.60,000-crore debt waiver scheme for farmers. Ms. Jayalalithaa was portraying a “garden of divine flowers” as a patch of arid desert, he added.
