HIGHER CONSUMPTION: Almonds displayed for sale at a shop in Kochi. Growing income, preference for almonds as a choice intake for health reasons and easy availability of the commodity combined with lower price have increased almond consumption, prompting India to be the second largest importer of almonds from the U.S.
