CHANDIGARH: Dharam Vir, a 1973 batch IAS officer, has taken over as the new Chief Secretary of Haryana following the retirement of Promilla Issar. He was Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Revenue and Disaster Management and Rehabilitation and Consolidation Departments). Mr. Dharam Vir is an MBA from the University of Leeds, UK. He did his M.Sc. in Physics from IIT-Kanpur. He has held many assignments in the State as well at the Centre. He had served as Vice-Chancellor of Haryana Agriculture University and Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar. Talking to media persons on Saturday, he said his priority would be to implement the policies and programmes of the government and give thrust to education, information technology, science and technology. Meanwhile, the charge of Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Revenue and Disaster Management and Rehabilitation and Consolidation Department) has been given to K. S. Bhoria, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Home, Jails, Criminal Investigation and Administration of Justice Department). He has also been given the charge of Forests and Environment Department consequent upon the retirement of H. C. Disodia. Feroza Mehrotra has been appointed Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary for Home, Jails, Criminal Investigation and Administration of Justice Department on her return from Central deputation. The Haryana Government has transferred 11 HCS officers. Ramesh Krishan, ADC-cum-CEO, DRDA, Kurukshetra, has been posted as General Manager (Project), office of Engineer-in-Chief, Irrigation, in place of Surender Singh, who has been posted as City Magistrate of Panipat. B. B. Kaushik, Secretary, Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation, goes as ADC-cum-CEO, DRDA, Jind, in place of Sanjeev Verma, who has been posted as ADC-cum-CEO, DRDA, Kurukshetra. Girish Arora, Citry Magistrate of Panchkula, and Yogesh Kumar, City Magistrate of Ambala, will swap their places of posting. K. K. Gupta, City Magistrate of Gurgaon, has been posted as SDO (C)-II, Gurgaon. Manjeet Singh, Under Secretary, Land Use Board, has been posted as City Magistrate, Kaithal. Yogesh Kumar Mehta, Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Ratia, will also look after the work of Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Fatehabad.
