Hospital staff go on strike

CUTTACK: Class IV employees of the hospital went on strike on Saturday demanding immediate redress of their grievances. Employees of the Hospital Steward ceased work and gheraoed the office of the hospital superintendent demanding immediate filling of vacancies. “Against an existing vacancy of 1300 class IV employees, the hospital has only 600 employees,” said an employees’ leader Sashibhusa Das.

They called off the stir after two hours following assurance by authorities.
