BERHAMPUR: A high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Union Minister of State for Defence has been convened in New Delhi on March 11 to resolve the impasse regarding the handing over of a patch of land under the Defence Department for completion of the Berhampur stadium. This meeting would be attended by State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Debasish Nayak, the State Sports Secretary, representatives of the Ganjam Athletic association and other senior officials of Orissa. Last year, Union Minister of State for Defence M.M.Pallam Raju had inspected this area and had promised its handing over to the State Government for completion of the stadium. Last week the Defence Department laid foundation stone to construct a poly-clinic on this patch of land for ex-servicemen.
