KORAPUT: At least Rs.20 crores might have to be returned, being unspent from NREGA funds in Koraput district if the strike by the association of Panchayat Extention Officers(PEO) and Orissa Diploma Engineers Service Association(ODESA) which began all over the district on Saturday was allowed to continue for the rest of the month . While the district was able to spend only Rs.32.15. crores from the funds over the last 11 months, Rs. 20 crores was reserved to be spent in March alone, official sources said. But ODESA has declared 33 days’ mass leave in support of its demands including the one for Central wages and the PEOs want that they be relieved from the burden of maintaining the cash records along with several other demands.
