Suicide pact: girl dies

BERHAMPUR: Five persons of a family of Thuruburai village under Hinjli police station in Ganjam district tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. Out of them 12-year-old Sonali Panigrahy (12) died. Her father Prafulla Panigrahy (45), mother Babita Panigrahy (40), two other sisters Minati (10) and Asha (6) survived. They are being treated at the MKCG medical college hospital. It is suspected that poverty and private loans that Prafulla had made led to their drastic decision.
