JODHPUR: The Rajasthan Government has sanctioned Rs.36 crore for up-gradation of trauma centres to enable them to extend immediate relief to the victims of accidents on national and State highways. Medical and Health Minister Narpat Singh Rajvi said in Jodhpur on Saturday that the State ranked second in the country in the poly trauma road accidents following a rapid expansion in the road network and a sharp rise in the number of heavy vehicles plying on highways. Mr. Rajvi said the medical research, human resource development and training to para-medical staff would help improve the functioning of trauma centres. He pointed out that the creation of a separate rural medical and health service cadre would facilitate extension of health care in the remote villages and provide relief to BPL families.
