BANGALORE: The couple was feverish with anticipation and excitement, knowing that their prayers would be answered the next day when their 10-year-old son would be brought back to them. Life seemed torturous and filled with anxiety to Syed Aslam and his wife Nazimma Unnisa for the past seven months as their son Syed Suhail Pasha had gone missing. Syed was kidnapped by strangers while he was playing near the railway tracks behind his house at Byatarayanapura. His parents advertised in the media and also announced a reward of Rs. 5,000 for anyone who would bring him back. Inexplicably, the boy was put on a train to Kolar, where he was found by a rescue team which took him to a juvenile home. They were not able to communicate with him as he spoke only Urdu and the authorities took seven months to bring him to Bangalore. Jayamary, a social worker from ECHO (Empowerment of Children and Human Rights), met him and after dogged investigation, helped him find his parents. On Thursday, the child welfare committee handed Syed over to his parents.
