KOCHI: Smart school programme for creating high-tech class rooms that make learning easy and enjoyable will be introduced in 12 schools in the Ernakulam constituency, said a statement issued by K.V. Thomas, MLA. The Rs.20-lakh fund for the project will be made available from the MLA fund. In the first phase, the project will be implemented in the following schools: Elamakkara Government school, SRV HS, Ernakulam Girls HS, Sree Narayana HS, Ayyappankavu, St. Antony’s Kachieripady, St. Teresa’s HS, St. Mary’s HS, Darul Uloom HS, St. Joseph HS, St. Augustine’s, St. Albert’s HS and LMCC Pachalam. Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony will open the programme during the next academic year, the statement said. The Schools would get server computers, UPS projector and screen, audio system, digital library and educational CDs. The project will be implemented with the support of Keltron and IT experts of the CUSAT. A one-day workshop for IT teachers was organised in connection with the programme. Prof. Thomas inaugurated the programme.
