SCHOOL NOTES

The upper primary section of the English club of Farook Higher Secondary School released its newspaper titled ‘Horizon Times’ at the school recently.

A.V. Unnikrishnan, Block Project Officer of the Kozhikode block resource centre, released the paper at a function presided over by headmaster K. Koya. Club secretary and student Sachin received the copy. School Principal Kunhimohammed distributed prizes.

Deputy headmaster T. Aboobacker, senior teacher Salahudheen, staff secretary Mohammed Kutty, club convener Shareefa Beegum and Club president Nimya spoke.

MES Raja Residential School, Kozhikode, celebrated its 33rd anniversary with various programmes recently.

T.K. Hamza, MP, inaugurated the newly set-up audiovisual room. V.P. Abdurahiman, chairman of the school, presided. P.O.J. Lebba, State secretary, Muslim Educational Society (MES), delivered the keynote address. P.A. Fazal Gafoor, president, MES; M.C.P. Salam, treasurer; C.T. Zakir Hussain, State secretary; and P.H. Muhammed, president, district committee of the organisation, spoke. Principal C.J. Lyson presented the report.

Mr. Gafoor laid the foundation for the Montessori pre-primary school on the occasion. M.P. Muhammed, chairman, Malabar Group of Companies, presented prizes to winners. M.P.C. Nazar, secretary of the school, and Rameshkumar, headmaster, spoke.

A class on ‘Best parenthood’ for parents was held.

The annual day of NSS English Medium Upper Primary School, Kozhikode, was celebrated at the school auditorium on February 29. Melady Narayanan, chairman of the Town Planning standing committee of the Kozhikode Corporation, was the chief guest. P.K. Parakkadavu, writer, inaugurated the function. C. Chandrasekharan Nair, NSS taluk union chairman, distributed endowments and trophies.
