Cop arrested

Faridkot: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police has been arrested in connection with the seizure of 410 gm of smack from three youths about 10 days ago.

ASI Sukhpal Singh who was arrested on Saturday, has been remanded to two days in police custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate B.R. Garg, SSP L.K. Yadav said.

Investigations revealed that the three youths from whom the contraband was seized had been falsely implicated in the case by the ASI in connivance with a local Congress leader who had a dispute with them, he said.
