BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Saturday trapped an Assistant Engineer of Bangalore Development Authority while he was allegedly accepting Rs. 50,000 from the owner of a granite polishing unit. According to Lokayukta police, the BDA official S.R. Sridhar, demanded the money from Wazid Pasha, who runs the unit on Bannerghatta Road. Mr. Pasha’s unit is situated on the land which the BDA claims to be a part of its layout. The dispute is before the Supreme Court and Mr. Pasha had won a stay order. On a complaint, Lokayukta police trapped the official while he was allegedly accepting the money near his office in Banashankari. . — Staff Reporter
