Lok Adalat held at passport office

Over 490 applicants from 16 districts under the jurisdiction of Tiruchi office attended it


TIRUCHI: Over 490 applicants attended the Lok Adalat held at Regional Passport Office in Tiruchi on Saturday.

The Adalat was conducted for applicants from all 16 districts which were under the jurisdiction of this office till the opening of a new passport office at Madurai.

Regional Passport Officer S. Balachandran and a team of officials heard the grievances and representations made by the applicants.

90 per cent of grievances resolved

The Adalat was held on a holiday for the benefit of the applicants attending it.

According to Mr. Balachandran, over 90 per cent of the grievances were resolved during the Adalat and passports would be issued to the applicants concerned within a week.

The Regional Passport Office would hold more such Adalats as and when required, he added.
