Silks weavers co-operative society announces rebate

THANJAVUR:Thirubuvanam Silk Weavers Co-operative Society, popularly called Thico silks, has announced concession for saris purchased during its special sales campaign organised in connection with holy festival from March 1-10.
According to a press release issued here by S. Prakasam, special officer of the society and joint registrar, 10 per cent rebate from society plus another 10 per cent government rebate will be given to saris purchased during the period.
The society has introduced 300 new designs for the summer season.
Fifty designs are in the price range of Rs. 3.500, sixty designs in the price range of Rs.5,000 to Rs.7,000, 65 designs ranging from Rs.7,000 to Rs.12,000 and 30 designs above Rs.20,000.
The sales target for 2007-2008 is Rs.33 crore. Till the end of February 2008, the society has made a sale of Rs.29 crore.
“Before the end of March, we hope to exceed the target of Rs.33 crore,” Mr. Prakasam said.
Unique designs
Some of the unique designs of the society are “Apsara silk,” “Sona designs,” “Pavithra silk,” “Vanasingaram,” “Yasodha Kanna,” “Kundavai collections” and “mural collections.”
