PRISTINA: Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has said Kosovo is united, ruling out its partition. “For Kosovo there is no north, or south,” said Mr. Thaci during a visit to an ethnic Albanian village in Serb-dominated northern part of Kosovo on Saturday. “Kosovo borders are best protected in the region,” he said while addressing villagers of Gushavc, north of Mitrovica, ensuring them of safety. Kosovo’s ethnic Albanian-dominated Parliament unilaterally declared independence from Serbia on February 17. The United States and major European Union (EU) powers have since recognised Kosovo. Serbia and Russia, both strongly opposed to the independence, said the E.U. mission violated UN Resolution 1244 and international law. Lawsuits threatened Serbia has threatened to file lawsuits at the International Court of Justice against the United States and all other countries that recognised Kosovo. — Xinhua
