Man found murdered

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The body of a 50-year-old coolie working in the Bangalore City Railway Station was found near textile showroom in the Cottonpet police station limits on Sunday. The police suspect that he might have been murdered elsewhere and the body dumped there.

The police said Rangaswamy, a resident of Hosaguddadahalli, was staying away from his wife and son, preferring to live around the city railway station. He had consumed alcohol the previous night. A hawker found him lying on the road near a lodge on Sunday.

The police said Rangaswamy had suffered injuries on his head. This could have been due to an assault or a fall. They are awaiting the autopsy report. The police, however, have registered a case of murder.
