Piyush Kumar assumes charge

Staff Reporter

Appreciates the work done by outgoing Collector Venkatesam

Challenging responsibility: Piyush Kumar taking charge from B. Venkatesam in Sangareddy on Monday.

Sangareddy: Outgoing Collector B. Venkatesam handed over charge to incumbent Piyush Kumar here at the district Collectorate on Monday. He also gave him the Social Accountability 8000 certificate which was accorded by Social Accountability International to the district in 2007.

Venkatesam said the Collectorate is the only public institution in Asia to hold the certification while others lost the recognition in the third party audit.

Immediately after assuming charge, Mr. Kumar spoke to reporters and said that the district, with its close proximity to the growth corridor of Hyderabad, has immense potential.

Appreciating the work done by his predecessor in the social sector, Mr. Kumar said that he would continue the good work.

He said that he would like to initiate special development programmes after studying the district for a couple of months.

He then visited the counters of the Praja Darbar held every Monday on the Collectorate premises along with B. Venkatesam, where he was introduced to all the department heads and mandal-level functionaries.

Venkatesam felicitated

Meanwhile, Mr. Venkatesam was felicitated by the Telangana NGOs association, Medak Revenue officers association, Panchayat Raj employees, MPDOs, MPTCs and ZPTCs and other Government organisations, held at the ZP conference hall, TNGO Bhavan and Revenue guest house.
