NEW DELHI: A court here on Monday gave relief to a woman, who had alleged that her husband and in-laws had been harassing her over the years, by directing her in-laws to provide her a room with all facilities in their house. Metropolitan Magistrate J. P. Nahar said at the interim stage residence order was granted to the petitioner for one room with all facilities. The court has directed the Station House Officer of the Badarpur police station in South Delhi to file a compliance report on the order within three days. The court also directed the Protection Officer, appointed under the Domestic Violence Act, to file a report with the court in case the woman is subjected to cruelty. HusbandMoving the court under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act through her counsel Santosh Mishra, the petitioner had alleged that her husband had been harassing her for giving birth to three daughters. She had also added in her petition that her in-laws had been harassing her ever since her marriage to Arun Kumar Ojha in 1997. Mr. Mishra also told the court that the husband had taken two minor daughters away from his wife on February 29 without her knowledge.
