Badal receives Jagriti Yatra

Mohali: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday congratulated all the Punjabis on the historic moment to receive the Holy relics and the Shastras (weapons) of the 10th Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh.

Addressing a gathering of devotees at the entry point of Mohali near YPS School to receive ‘Guru Manyo Granth Jagriti Yatra’, Mr. Badal said: “We are fortunate enough that we are celebrating 300th year of Guruta Gaddi Diwas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in our lifetime with the blessings of the almighty”.

An official release here quoting the Chief Minister said that the Yatra, which has so far covered several States after starting from Nanded in Maharashtra, would cover entire Punjab during next one and a half month.

The Yatra’s aim is to bring awareness amongst the people especially the younger generations about the rich legacy of Sikh religion and the great sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh to serve the mankind with missionary zeal and disseminated a message of universal brotherhood, he said. PTI
