Students get to experience ‘mysterious things’

impressive feat: Sleeping on a bed of nails is no problem for this boy who learnt the ropes at a science exhibition in Adilabad on Monday.

ADILABAD: For students of various schools in Adilabad town, the week started on an exciting note as they got to witness and experience some of the ‘mysterious’ things that keep happening around us.

Some of the difficult tasks like levitation and sleeping on a bed of sharp nails were performed quite easily by young students after they got to know the ‘tricks of the trade’ at the wonder science exhibition organised by the Jana Vignana Vedika’s (JVV), Adilabad unit.

Basic science

At the inaugural, JVV district president and general secretary U. Ganganna and K. Ramdas gave a detailed introduction about the exhibition.

They contended that all the seemingly inexplicable things like magic and the like are possible through application of basic science.

They sought to dispel the popular view that magic is a supernatural process. A magic show was performed by Manohar Swamy preceding which T. Ramesh arrived there driving a motorcycle blindfolded.
