Power Grid chief quits

NEW DELHI: Months ahead of his retirement from service, Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) Chairman and Managing Director R. P. Singh on Monday announced his decision to resign from the largest power transmission utility. Mr. Singh, due for retirement on July 31, had taken over as the head of the company in August 1997.
