Chowrasia loses top spot

New Delhi: S.S.P. Chowrasia’s reign at the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit ended on Monday after the Kolkata-pro was dislodged by New Zealand’s Mark Brown, who emerged a surprise winner at the Johnnie Walker Classic.

Chowrasia missed the cut in the $2.5 million tournament that was played at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon. The dismal show has seen him slip to the second spot in the list with earnings of $416,660.

Brown, who became the new leader, now has earnings of $537,833. Shiv Kapur moved up to eighth place with earnings of $110,254. — PTI
