Kidnapped child rescued
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A young couple have been arrested by the South Delhi police on charges of abducting an infant boy from Ambedkar Nagar here in January. The victim was rescued from Kodarma in Jharkhand.
The police received a complaint from Meera Devi on January 28 that her two-month-old son had been abducted by a woman named Anita. Meera said the accused came into contact with her a fortnight before the incident. On the fateful day, she asked Meera to accompany her to Mehrauli for shopping. On reaching Madangir, she asked the complainant to wait outside a house saying it belonged to her mother. She took the baby along on some pretext and vanished from there.
Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a hunt for the accused.
