Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Three Nepalese nationals have been arrested by the Delhi police on charges of kidnapping a man from Vasant Vihar here for ransom. The victim was rescued from neighbouring Gurgaon.

Dhan Maya lodged a complaint with the Vasant Vihar police that her husband Dhruv Kumarwas abducted on February 26. She told the police that she had heard him talking to Neer Bahadur over mobile phone. Neer had called him for a meeting at Munirka. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case. Meanwhile, Dhan Maya received a ransom call demanding Rs.3 lakh for the release of her husband. The ransom amount was doubled when she refused to pay up the entire sum till her husband was released. The kidnappers, posing as members of a Maoist group from Nepal, also threatened to kill her husband and her relatives.
