Ex gratia sought

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions on Monday demanded payment of ex gratia of Rs.5 lakh each to the families of three persons who died in an explosion in a chemical factory at Kondapalli on Sunday.

CITU district secretary D.V. Krishna also demanded in a statement that strict measures be initiated to prevent recurrence of such incidents in factories.

As many as 27 persons had been killed in different accidents in factories in the district in recent months, he pointed out.
