Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A six-year-old boy, son of an industrialist, who was reportedly kidnapped from near his house in Jalahalli police station limits on Sunday afternoon, was rescued by the police.

Syed Ulfath Hussein, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), told The Hindu that two persons have been arrested in this connection. One of them has been identified as Hanumanth Reddy, who had reportedly demanded Rs. 10 lakh as ransom.

He said that the boy was rescued at Kadari in Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh.

The police said that industrialist Arvind Belludi, a resident of Sharadambanagar, had lodged a complaint with the police that his son, Pratham, who was playing near his house, had gone missing since Sunday afternoon.

The Jalahalli police had registered a case of boy missing.

They suspect that Preetham could have been kidnapped for ransom.
