TAMBARAM: Two men were killed in separate road accidents on Sunday. In the first accident, which took place on Mount Poonamallee Road at Manapakkam near St. Thomas Mount, Manu Muduli (35) of Orissa was critically injured when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle, police officials said. He had just got down at the Manapakkam bus stop and was walking down the road when a speeding vehicle hit him. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. He was a construction worker and was on his way to work. Later in the evening, a man reported to be around 60 years old died on the spot when he was hit by a speeding state government bus on the Grand Southern Trunk Road in Peerkankaranai near Tambaram. The victim, whose identity is yet to be established, was crossing the road when the accident took place. Succumbs to injuriesOn Monday evening, a 31-year-old youth succumbed to injuries he sustained in an accident that took place at Manapakkam last month. Traffic police said N. Balasubramanian was an engineering consultant. He was travelling on a motorcycle with a friend on Mount Poonamallee Road on February 22 when he was hit by a water tanker. He had sustained serious injuries on his waist and was undergoing treatment at a hospital, where he died on Monday.
