Two students killed
A 22-year-old engineering final-year student died after he fell from his motorcycle at Balanagar on Sunday night. K. Naveen Kumar Gupta, a resident of Chintal, was coming from BBR hospital when the incident occurred.
In another incident, an engineering student injured in a motorcycle accident on Friday succumbed to his injuries at a corporate hospital on Sunday. The student has been identified as V. Venkata Vamshi Krishna (25) and he was riding a bike with two other friends when a lorry crashed into them at Hayathnagar.
Chloral hydrate seized
The Director of Prohibition and Excise Department has seized chloral hydrate worth over Rs.15 lakh from a lorry at Zaheerabad. Lorry driver Kallappa and cleaner Balaji Ratan were taken into custody. The chemical was being transported from Mumbai to Armoor village in Nizambad district.
In ACB net
Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Monday arrested an assistant Electrical Inspector P. Linga Reddy, working in the Deputy Chief Electrical Inspector’s office at Chikkadpally, on charge of accepting Rs. 10,000 bribe from a person. He tested positive when subjected to a chemical test, the ACB DSP M. Siddaiah said.
