Surprise showers at Kanakakunnu grounds

Visitors to the Kanakakunnu Palace grounds tread cautiously these days for fear of being drenched.

The sprinklers installed on the sprawling premises to water the lawns and flower beds are catching citizens unaware.

Caught in the spray, many of the morning walkers here have had to face embarrassing moments, much to the amusement of onlookers.

Regular visitors complain that some of the sprinklers have been installed with their snouts facing in the wrong direction.

“Are they meant to water the plants or to give us a shower?” an annoyed visitor was heard asking.

There are others with a fine sense of humour who see opportunity.

One morning, a group of youngsters was found merrily enjoying the sight of their dirty cars and two-wheelers getting a free wash from an errant sprinkler.
