Sivakasi college wins first prize

KARAIKUDI: A State-level quiz competition was conducted at Department of Mathematics of Alagappa University here on Monday in which 11 teams from various universities and colleges participated.
Alagappa University Vice-Chancellor P. Ramasamy inaugurated the competition.
In his inaugural address, he stressed the importance of the quiz programmes which not only test the mental ability of students but also develop special skills to face challenges.
Prof. Ilango, Professor of Mathematics, Cardamom, Planters’ Association College, Podinaickanoor conducted the quiz programme.
Sivakasi Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College won first prize.
Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli and Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai secured second and third prizes respectively.
R. Natarajan, Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Syndicate Member of the University, welcomed the gathering.
Quiz programme coordinator N. Anbazhagan proposed a vote of thanks.
