One killed in family feud

Staff Reporter

Sangareddy: Fifty-year-old Rathod Vaman Rao of Maddikunta Tanda of Sadasivapet mandal was allegedly murdered by six persons including two of his own brothers and their sons.

According to the police Vaman Rao migrated to Medak district from Bidar in Karnataka 20 years ago. He eked out a living on the farm he owned here. He had two wives, seven sons and four daughters. His two brothers -- Raghunath and Gopal -- were settled in Hyderabad but recently returned to Maddikunta Tanda.

The brothers who suffered losses in their businesses started pestering Vaman Rao for a share in his property.

With the differences between the brothers deepening Vaman Rao even lodged a compliant against his younger brothers and they were bound over before the Tahasildar two months ago. On Monday, when Vaman Rao was returning from Sadasivapet on a motorcycle along with his friend Kishan , he was waylaid near Maddikunta water tank and killed. Kishan ran away and alerted the residents of the Tanda. The accused are absconding.
