PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry unit of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Monday urged the government to scrap the common entrance test (CET) for admission to medicine and engineering courses. In a statement here, DMK convener R.V. Janakiraman said that his party had put forward the demand six months ago but the government was yet to take any decision. “The Tamil Nadu government has abolished the common entrance test for the professional courses. Similarly, the Puducherry government should scrap the test immediately,” he said. Puducherry should take a policy decision on the issue and announce it immediately as Plus Two examinations were on, he added.
