Plan to mitigate closure of canals

Kakinada: The district administration has prepared a contingency plan costing Rs. 3.55 crore to mitigate the impact of the closure of all canals and drains of the river Godavari for 70 days from April 10, on the drinking water supply. District Collector M. Subrahmanyam stated in a press release that a sum of Rs. 2.1 crore was allocated for supplying drinking water through tankers in Uppalaguptam, Katrenikona, Razolu, Sakhinetipalli, P.Gannavaram, Tallarevu and I.Polavaram mandals.
