Stale food seized in raid

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city Corporation on Tuesday seized a large quantity of stale food from six hotels in the Statue, Palayam and General Hospital areas. The raid, carried out by a special squad led by Senior Health Inspector P. Ajaykumar, unearthed spoiled rice, beef and chicken dishes, stale chapatti, poori, idiyappam and green peas curry and oil that was reused for frying. The items were seized from Hotel Residency Tower, Press Road; Café Al-Mina, Palayam; Statue Hotel, Statue; Kerala House restaurant, Statue; Devi restaurant, near General Hospital junction; and the canteen on the premises of General Hospital.
